Labour expert advocates ADR in resolving conflicts

Mr Gamey advised the graduands to use other means instead of the Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat (SWOT) analysis to resolve problems.

 “Conflict is the most dangerous and expensive venture and we need to resolve it through appropriate dispute resolution,” he said.

The chairman of the ceremony, Mr Benjamin Arthur, urged the graduands to use their language skills effectively by seeking to understand others as they communicate to prevent conflicts.

According to him, Ghana has spent large sums of money on training and dispatching security personnel to maintain peace in conflict zones but to no avail and added that those conflicts still existed.

The Professional Executive Master of ADR Programme is a 25-week Saturday programme organised by Gamey and Gamey Academy of Mediation in collaboration with PULSE Institute-Canada and Mediation Training Institute (MTI)-USA.

The Gamey and Gamey Academy of Mediation has a faculty made up of people with immense experience in labour and alternative dispute resolution skills to provide an opportunity for professionals to practise and refine their mediation skills using a PULSE approach.
