The hospital authorities made temporary folders for patients whose original folders had been destroyed by the fire that started about 4:30 a.m.

The quick response by personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) prevented the fire from spreading to other units of the centre.

The fire is alleged to have resulted from some refuse that was being burnt just behind one of the windows of the centre.

The Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Mr Mustapha Salifu, told the Daily Graphic that the hospital had an electronic database of its patients and that would be transferred onto new folders to facilitate smooth medical attention.

He, therefore, urged all patients who had appointment with the centre to follow the normal routine for health care and services.
