Konkonlebgre wins favourite food at Nestle contest

Konkonlebgre, a millet variant of Ghana’s “favourite” jollof rice, most familiar to people from the Upper East region, emerged the toast of judges at the first Nestle Idealicious Cooking Challenge.

Judges Henry Duah, famed TV chef of "Guess who is coming for dinner"; Mrs Elizabeth Anaba, The Grandma character from the Ideal Recipes television advert; and Mrs Audrey Acheampong,Greater Accra Regional Chairperson of the Ghana Home Economics Association, were not only impressed by the taste but more particularly, the creative touch the winners gave to the local dishes they prepared.

The proud winning chefs, Dramanu Saratu and Ajene Baba Frank of Bolgatanga Polytechnic also prepared the "Idealicious Zomkom", a spicy millet drink and a guinea fowl sauce both using Ideal Milk.

For the their reward, they walked home with a cash prize of GH¢3,000, a certificate of participation and two sets of electric deep fryers.
