KNUST TEWU march over council dissolution

The Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on Monday went on a procession campus to kick against the dissolution of the University Governing Council.

The council was last week dissolved by government following the impasse between the students and the university management.

The union has thrown its weight behind the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) whose members laid down their tools also to protest the dissolution of the council.

Clad in red head and arm gears, the demonstrators held placards some of which read “No Obiri, No Work”, “We need prolific Prof Obiri Danso and his able council”, “No MIC in KNUST” among others.

They marched in and around the commercial area of the university.
