The trial version, which will be launched today, Monday, June 8, 2015, will allow subscribers access to 16 pages of Daily Graphic and eight pages of Graphic Sports, Graphic Business, Graphic Showbiz, Mirror and Junior Graphic at 12 noon every day for free.

The application

Known as the BETA edition, subscribers can download the digital form of the newspapers which will be in pdf format on their android phone, tablet and other electronic devices with an application known as Graphic newsstand.

Currently, in Africa, there are few digital newspapers such as the Daily Maverick in South Africa, Frontpage Africa in Liberia and Morocco Times.

The digital version of the GCGL newspapers will also allow advertisers more visibility since they will also have their adverts on the digital versions of the newspapers.

Full version in August

In an interview, the Director of Marketing and Sales of the GCGL, Ms Shirley Acquah-Harrison, explained that the actual digital version of the newspapers would be launched in August 2015.

That, she said, would be available by 6 a.m. every day and would contain all the pages of the various brands of the newspapers of the GCGL.

However, Ms Acquah-Harrison stated that the company wanted the public to try the digital version for free for one month after which it would be accessible to subscribers.

She indicated that the core objective of the introduction of the digital newspapers was to allow more people access to the newspapers.
