Graphic hosts political leaders as Guest Editors tomorrow

As part of activities marking the Founder’s Day celebration, which falls tomorrow, Wednesday, September 21, the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) will be hosting leaders of some political parties as guest editors of the national daily newspaper, the Daily Graphic.

The guest editors will edit and produce the Thursday, September 22, 2016 edition of the Daily Graphic, the flagship brand of the GCGL stable of newspapers.

It will be under the Editorship of the Chairman of the National Peace Council (NPC), the Most Reverend Professor Emmanuel Asante. 

The guest editors are the flag bearers of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, the running mate of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Mrs Brigitte Dzogbenuku, the General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, and the Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea. The rest are the General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Mr Atik Mohammed, and the acting General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Mr Yaw Tano Asani.

3rd in series

The programme for tomorrow is the third in a series of programmes carried out by the Daily Graphic during national holidays where the paper engages guest editors — stakeholders and other professionals — to edit the Daily Graphic.

The first in the series was on Independence Day, March 6, 2016 during which the newspaper was edited by a crack team of guest editors including Ambassador Kabral Blay-Amihere, a former Chairman of the National Media Commission (NMC), Mrs  Brigette Dzogbenuku, a women’s right activist, Alhaji Razak El Alawa, a seasoned journalist; Mr Emmanuel Amoako, a former Deputy Editor of  the Daily Graphic, Mr K. K. Dako, a former Night Editor of the Daily Graphic, and Mr Enimil Ashon, a former Editor of the Ghanaian Times.

The second was on May 1, this year and the team of guest editors were from the TUC leadership including its former General Secretary, Mr Kofi Asamoah;  the Chief Executive Officer of GRIDCo, Mr William Amuna, the Commissioner of the National Insurance Commission (NIC), Mrs Lydia Bawa, and the CEO of West Blue Consulting, Mrs Valentina Mintah.

Interview

The Daily Graphic, as part of the Founder’s Day programme, will have a dialogue with the guest editors for publication in subsequent publications.
