God ready to open heavens over Ghana’s economy : Rev Darko
The Executive Director (Africa) for Christ For All Nations CFAN), an international evangelistic group, Rev John Kwesi Darko, has predicted that “God is about to open the heavens over Ghana’s economy”.

In a direct reference to the major economic and energy crisis facing the nation, the renowned crusade director declared: “There will be sudden interventions and God will prosper us again. The state of the economy has created a sense of despair and hopelessness in our people but God will restore the hope in the people.”
Rev Darko was addressing the launch of a four-day open-air mass outreach in Ghana dubbed, ‘The Tema-Ashaiman Gospel Crusade’.
Slated for December 3-6, this year, the crusade will be organised in partnership with the Christian Council of Ghana (CCG), the Council of Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches (CPCC) and the National Association of Charismatic and Christian Churches (NACCC). The featured speaker will be the new president of CFAN, American Evangelist Daniel Kolenda, who took over from the founder of the international ministry, German international evangelist Reinhard Bonnke.
History of crusade
It is the third time in 28 years that CFAN is mounting a crusade in the Tema area, the first being in 1987. Since then, the organisation has held similar meetings in Accra, Takoradi and Kumasi.
The Tema-Ashaiman crusade launch at Tema last Monday was attended by heads and other representatives of all the major Christian denominations in Ghana, including the Catholic, Methodist and Presbyterian Churches, Assemblies of God, Church of Pentecost, Apostolic and Christ Apostolic churches, among other churches.
Rev Darko announced that some Christian investors from Europe and America would accompany the CFAN team to Ghana. He said they intended to identify some areas in the nation’s economy to invest.
He cautioned Ghanaian Christian churches with so-called “mega-churches” against complacency, regretting that in recent years, urban missions had been on the decline.
“The Church has left soul-winning to chance, but it cannot be over-emphasised that the only biblical way to populate heaven is through evangelism and missions,” Rev Darko said.
The launch provided a platform for sharing experiences from the two immediate past CFAN crusades in Ghana, including Kumasi in 2014, which has been described as Ghana’s largest outdoor Christian event in history.
