Give peace a chance — Nana Addo Agyeman II

The Chief of Senchi in the Asuogyaman District in the Eastern Region, Nana Ofei Addo Agyeman II, has called on people of the area to give peace a chance for development purposes.

He said Senchi was geographically endowed with numerous resources and could lure potential investors to help create more job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youth in the area.

"We have several untapped resources including human resources, arable land and water bodies which, when properly managed, will pave the way for rapid socio-economic development of our land," he said.

Nana Agyeman II, who is also the Nifahene of the Akwamu Traditional Area, made the call during the Akwasidae Festival at Senchi.

He stated that he was not happy that the area, previously known for its peaceful atmosphere, had not enjoyed relative peace since 2015.

He said the town had come under all forms of attacks by hired machomen aimed at destabilising social and economic activities in and around Senchi.

Nana Agyeman II, however, assured the people that such acts of intimidation, attacks on innocent persons and wanton destruction of property would be a thing of the past.

He, therefore, called on citizens of Senchi to unite to fight lawlessness. He added, "As a way of removing all forms of bottlenecks militating against the progress of Senchi, I am putting my rich experience to bear by constituting a team of competent persons with requisite skills to ensure that my vision of making Senchi a showpiece is realised”.
