The Rector, on behalf of the Institute’s Governing Council, management, staff and students expressed his deepest sympathies to the Embassy, the entire Lebanese Community in Ghana and to Lebanon during this period of mourning.

He also called for prayers for the Lebanese people while encouraging the Ambassador and the families of those who lost their lives and the injured in the disaster to remain steadfast and have faith that the good Lord will see them through this difficult period.

He said the gesture both represented and exemplified the Institute’s long-standing relationship with the Embassy and the Lebanese communmity who had been a key partner in education, providing scholarship support for a number of exceptional but financially challenged students at the undergraduate and graduate levels at GIJ since 2013.
