Ghana records 229 new COVID-19 cases, recoveries increase to 4,326

Ghana has recorded 229 new cases of the Coronavirus disease, bringing the total number of cases to 12,193.

The new cases were recorded from nine regions.

The country has also recorded 104 new recoveries, making the total number of recoveries 4,326 and four new deaths, totalling 58.

The new deaths were all recorded in the Greater Accra Region.

This brings the total number of active cases to 7,809.

The Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Aboagye, gave the updated figures at a press briefing in Accra on Tuesday, June 16.

According to him, 13 people are in severe conditions with four critical and on ventilators.

Ashanti Region – 70

Central Region –  42

Savannah Region – 34

Greater Accra Region – 32

Western Region – 17

Eastern Region – 11

Volta Region – 11

Upper West Region – 10
