Presby Church supports ICT project at PRESEC

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) has presented a cheque for GH¢301,000 to the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC) at Legon in Accra in support of an ICT laboratory project in the school.

At a ceremony held in Accra yesterday at the head office of the PCG to present the cheque to the Headmaster of the school, Mr David Odjidja, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the PCG, Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante, reiterated the church’s commitment to its educational institutions and promised that other institutions of the church would also receive similar financial support in due course.

Best school

Rev. Mante said PRESEC was the PCG’s premier SHS and also one of the best schools in the country, and urged the headmaster and staff of the school not to rest on their oars but work hard at all times to stay at the top.

“Don’t compete with schools in Ghana but look outside rather and strive to be the best in the West Africa sub-region,” he advised.

He congratulated the school for coming second in the 2019 Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition and urged them to prepare well and win the competition next year.

The Chairperson of the Ga Presbytery of the PCG, Rev. Dr Victor Okoe Abbey, said the church was doing a lot for the school and was currently constructing two bungalows for chaplains of the school which were expected to be completed in November this year.

Gratitude

Mr Odjidja thanked the church for the donation and promised to use it for the intended purpose.

Mrs Rose Helen Ankrah, a member of the school’s Board of Directors, commended the church for the donation and said that the gesture would correct the erroneous impression that the church was not supporting the school enough.

Present at the ceremony were Rev. Dr Godwin Nii Noi Odonkor, Clerk of the General Assembly of the PCG, members of the Board of Directors of the school, staff and some directors at the Head Office of the PCG.
