Prayer changes everything: A prophet’s testimony in a book

A book intended to motivate Christians to build a stronger spiritual connection and relationship with God through sincere and relentless prayers has been launched in the USA.

Titled: “Prayer changes everything: spiritual keys to unlock your answers”, the book seeks to teach Christians in particular, and its readers, to be relentless in their prayer life as that brings peace, builds strength, and brings results to otherwise hopeless situations.

Authored by the founder and senior pastor of the United Worship Cathedral (UWC) based in the USA, Prophet Eric K. Owusu, the 62-page book teaches about what prayer is, the mysteries of prayer, the misconceptions about prayer, and the importance of prayer, among other topics.

It is his first book in his over three decades ministry.

At the launch of the book at a special service at the UWC in Yonkers, New York, the founder of Pneuma Revival Centre, also in the USA, Bishop Ransford A. Asare, shared that the greatest testimony behind the book was the author himself.

He reflected on Prophet Owusu's unwavering commitment to prayer dating back to the 1990s when he led dawn and midnight prayer meetings at Amankwatia Park in Kumasi, seeking the face of God long before entering into full-time ministry.

He explained that the same consistent prayer life had carried the prophet from those humble beginnings to lead one of the most vibrant prophetic and prayer-centred churches in New York.

“My brother, Prophet Owusu's journey is living proof that prayer truly changes everything, and his life and ministry are a testimony to the power of seeking God faithfully,” Bishop Asare stated.

Inspiration, testimony

Sharing his inspiration for writing the book, Prophet Owusu said prayer has been the foundation of both his life and ministry.

He testified that despite growing up with a speech impediment and not being fluent in English, God transformed his life through a consistent life of prayer and dependence on Him.

He said that, wanting others to experience the same power and intimacy with God, he wrote the book to document the lessons he had learned over the years and to encourage believers to develop a deeper, more consistent prayer life that drew them closer to God.

The prophet said there were already many materials on prayer and added that his book to the collection was like pouring a bucket of water into an ocean, however, as a beneficiary of prayer, he was obliged to also testify to its impact.

“Throughout the Bible, which is our manual for life and living, we are blessed with so many examples of how prayer changed things for the better.

From Moses, whose prayers helped the Israelites to win battles, Esther and Mordecai, who changed the course of their people through prayer, to Daniel, whose prayers saved him from being consumed by hungry lions, the evidence of prayer is documented.

“Jesus Christ, the Son of God himself, was relentless in prayer, and the Apostle Paul, also experiencing the power of prayer, encouraged all of us to pray without ceasing, so for me, the evidence of prayer having the power to change everything is already documented.

“My book is also to share my personal story and testimony, and hopefully, it will help everyone who reads it to also have their own evidence and testimony of the power of prayer,” Prophet Owusu stated.
