The Global Peace Christian Centre (GPCC) has donated medical and other essential items to the Abokobi Polyclinic in the Ga East Municipality.
The items donated included ceiling fans, detergents, digital blood pressure monitors, weight scales, mops, mop buckets and bedsheets.
Apart from the donation, the GPCC formed a partnership with the polyclinic to periodically organise health screening exercises for the Abokobi community and its environs.
Presenting the items, the Founder and Chairman of GPCC, Apostle Henry Ampomah-Boateng, said the gesture was in line with the commitment of the centre to serve God and bring relief to humanity.
The church, he said, should not only be interested in the spiritual welfare of people, but also their physical and socio-economic development.
“People are spiritual and physical beings, and for us as a faith institution, we want the society to understand that medical science is accepted by the Lord, so we have to combine both prayers and the promotion health,” he said.
Apostle Ampomah-Boateng said the GPCC was in the same community as the polyclinic, and, therefore, the support was part of the church’s way of spreading God’s love to enable the polyclinic to serve the community better.
Appreciation
The Administrator of the Abokobi Polyclinic, Wisdom Acheampong, thanked the GPCC for the gesture and said it would go a long way to enhance the operational efficiency of the polyclinic.
“We are extremely grateful that when you inquired about our needs some time ago, you fulfilled your promise and donated the items as requested,” he said.
