The Denkyirahene, Odeefoɔ Boa Amponsem IV, has called on all divisional and sub-chiefs within the Denkyira Traditional Area to unite behind the Paramount Stool and work collectively towards the development of the traditional area.
The appeal was made during a meeting of the Denkyira Oman Council held at Amponsem Ahenfie in Dunkwa-on-Offin, where the Denkyirahene emphasised the need for peace, unity, and selfless leadership among traditional authorities.
Odeefoɔ Boa Amponsem observed that although the Denkyira traditional area was endowed with abundant natural and human resources, it had not attained the level of development its potential deserved.
He attributed the situation, in part, to divisions, personal interests and the lack of a united front in pursuing the collective aspirations of the people.
The Denkyirahene, therefore, urged all chiefs and opinion leaders to set aside selfish interests and support initiatives aimed at accelerating socio-economic development across the traditional area.
He stressed that sustainable progress could only be achieved when traditional leaders worked together in harmony, upheld the values of Denkyira, and placed the welfare of the people above personal considerations.
Visionary leadership
Odeefoɔ Boa Amponsem IV was enstooled as the 26th Denkyirahene in October last year and will mark his first anniversary in October 2026.
He reaffirmed his commitment to providing visionary leadership focused on development, justice and inclusive governance.
The Denkyirahene called on all citizens of Denkyira, both at home and abroad, to support efforts to promote peace, strengthen unity and drive the transformation of Denkyira for the benefit of present and future generations.
Odeefoɔ Boa Amponsem expressed confidence that with the collective support of traditional leaders and the people, Denkyira could reclaim its historic prominence and achieve meaningful, sustainable development.
