The Accra East Region of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall has installed new leaders for the next two years, with Worthy Brother William Ashaley assuming office as Regional Grand Knight and Respected Lady Sister Cynthia Prah as Regional Noble Lady.
The new leaders were blessed during a thanksgiving Mass held at the Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church at Madina in Accra on Sunday, August 9, 2026, marking the beginning of their two-year tenure.
The ceremony was attended by the Supreme Knight, Sir Kt Bro. Constantine K.M. Kudzedzi; the Grand Lady, Most Respected Lady Sis. Irene Smith Ansah; Senior Officers, Brothers and Sisters from the various component Councils and Courts in the Accra East Region, as well as other members of the Catholic community.
In his acceptance speech, Worthy Brother Ashaley said the new leadership began its tenure with thanksgiving because every position in the church was first and foremost an opportunity to serve.
“Our first act after assuming office is not a meeting, a programme, or a celebration.
It is to come before the altar of God in thanksgiving,” he said.
He said the gesture was a reminder that every act of service must begin with God, and called on members to pray for the new leadership to enable it to serve with wisdom, humility and courage.
“We ask that you continue to remember us in your prayers, that we may lead not for our own honour, but for the greater glory of God and the good of His Church,” he said.
Worthy Brother Ashaley said the installation came at a significant time as the Noble Order celebrated 100 years of faithful service to the Catholic Church.
He said the centenary was a reminder that the strength of the order had never been in titles or grandeur but in humble service.
“For a century, Marshallans have quietly supported the mission of the Church through unity, charity, fraternity and service,” he said.
He expressed the hope that the tradition would continue to flourish in every parish and generation.
Worthy Brother Ashaley also invited young Catholic men and women to consider joining the Noble Order, particularly those seeking to deepen their faith through fellowship and service.
Support
Respected Lady Sister Prah expressed appreciation to the clergy and faithful of the Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church for their hospitality and prayers.
She also joined the Regional Grand Knight to present a token to the Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr Jean De Dieu Ahorloo, SMA, on behalf of the Accra East Regional Councils and Courts.
The token was presented to support the development projects of the church.
Respected Lady Sister Prah prayed that the relationship between the region and the parish would continue to grow and thanked the parish priest for his warm welcome.
Centenary
The installation and thanksgiving mass followed a two-day centenary regional conference organised by the Accra East Region as part of activities marking 100 years of the Noble Order of Knights of Marshall.
