45-year-old wins Kwahu Afram Plains South District Best Farmer

Forty-five year old farmer, Mboyo Tanuuno Johnson, from Forifori in the Kwahu Afram Plains South has emerged as the District Best Farmer.

Mr Johnson, owns a 95-acre maize farm, as well as groundnuts, pepper, yam and beans farms.

He took away a tri-cycle, farm implements including cutlass, hand spraying machine, wellington boots, bar soap chemicals among others. He also received a certificate.

Mr Johnson was the Best District Youth Farmer in 2003 and later the Best Maize Farmer in 2013.

The Second Best Runner Up, Mr George Yaw Kisi took home a motor bike, and farm implements including cutlass, hand spraying machine, wellington boots, bar soap chemicals amng others as well as a certificate.

The First Runner Up went to Mr Teffutor Dzidefo from Samanhyiah also received a motor bike and some farm implements including a cutlass, hand spraying machine, wellington boots, bar soap chemicals am9ng others. He also received a certificate.
In all, 26 farmers made up of 24 men and four women emerged winners in the various categories of this year's farmers' celebration held at Samanhyiah in the Afram Plains South District.

The District Chief Executive Mr George Ofori commended the farmers for their untiring effort to feed the nation.
