Get involved in sanitation activities — Most Rev. Asante
The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana, Most Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Asante, has advised Christians not to devote their entire lives to prayers alone but also make some time to participate in other activities such as environmental sanitation exercises.

He noted that some people had the impression that after becoming a christian, “everything in life is about prayer” and so they refuse to engage in anything that had to do with their communities.
“What happens is that whenever people become Christians, their minds cease to work such that they refuse to do things they are supposed to do,” Prof. Asante stated.
He said Christianity was not just about sharing the word of God and winning souls, but showing concern about the community in which one resided, adding, “we should not only preach the gospel but care for the society.”
Rev. Asante, who was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Nungua Circuit of the Methodist Church Ghana, Accra Diocese in Accra last Saturday, observed that a way of serving the Lord was by keeping the community clean.
Youth in the church
Rev. Asante charged leaders of the church to come out with innovative ways of engaging the youth in the church, saying the devil found work for the idle hand.
He stated that it was the responsibility of the leaders to transform the lives of the youth by ensuring that career building programmes were organised for them.
Circuit
Rev. Asante also admonished the Superintendent Minister of the Nungua Circuit, Rev. Emmanuel Otoo, to give pastoral care and supervision to the people of his circuit.
The Nungua Circuit consists of six societies which include Ebenezer, Bethel and Freeman.
