The items included 50 plastic chairs, food and assorted drinks, as well as detergents and toiletries. The plastic chairs were part of items the association promised the hospital last year when its members made a similar presentation to the facility.

At the presentation ceremony, the Vice-President of FAWA, Mrs Beatrice Abbey, said the association’s relationship with the hospital began 21 years ago. It supplied medical equipment, food items, detergents and many other items every year to enable the hospital to improve on its operations.

She said the gesture was also to encourage other benevolent organisations and individuals to extend similar support to the children’s hospital.

The Paediatric Specialist at PML, Dr Isaac Abban, thanked FAWA for its support and explained that such gestures have been very beneficial to the hospital as they help reduce the cost of administration, especially with regard to feeding the patients.

He was full of praise for FAWA and said its constant assistance was very commendable, adding that they had proved to be a reliable social partner over the years.

He encouraged other charitable institutions and individuals also to contribute to the operations of the hospital to enhance quality health care to children.
