ECG employee returns found wallet to owner

An employee of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in Accra displayed an exemplary spirit of empathy last Saturday when he returned a missing wallet he had found to its owner with its contents intact.

Besides the cash of GH¢300 in the wallet, it also contained an automated teller machine (ATM), Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), health insurance and voters cards as well as a driver’s licence and other personal items.

Mr William Adjei Yeboah, the ECG employee, found the wallet and its contents at the entrance of the GOIL filling station on the Bush Road, Teshie in Accra late last Friday, and after examining the contents, called the owner who is an employee of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) the following day and handed it over.

“After picking it and seeing where you work, I decided to trace your number, but it was not until the following day that I saw your complementary cards and called you to meet me here for it,” he explained.

Mr Yeboah said his decision to trace the owner of the wallet was based on his Christian principles.
