Dynamic Perscoba 96 launches 30th anniversary with sporting extravaganza

The 1996 year group of St. Peter's Old Boys Association, popularly known as Dynamic Perscoba 96, officially launched its 30th anniversary celebrations with a colourful sporting and social event held at the Mary Mother of Good Counsel School Grounds on Friday, July 3, 2026.

The anniversary, themed "30 Years On: Celebrating Brotherhood, Legacy and Excellence," commenced with an Anniversary Games programme that brought together old students, families and invited guests in a display of camaraderie, sportsmanship and renewed fellowship.

The event attracted strong participation from the 1995, 1997 and 1998 PERSCOBA year groups, whose members turned out in large numbers to compete in various sporting and recreational activities. The visiting groups added to the festive atmosphere by providing food and refreshments for their members, reinforcing the spirit of unity that has long defined the association.

Organisers ensured the event was professionally executed, with canopies, a public address system, photography services, sporting equipment, refreshments and other logistics in place before the arrival of participants. A fully equipped first aid station, staffed by a professional nurse and sponsored by Kabiru Yahaya of Kabs Pharma Services, remained operational throughout the programme, with no major medical incidents recorded.

Activities began with an aerobics and fitness session led by members of the 1998 year group, setting an energetic tone for the day's events. One of the major highlights was the football match, where a combined team comprising members of the 1995, 1996 and 1997 year groups faced the 1998 side after Dynamic 96 was unable to field a complete team. Following an entertaining 2-2 draw, the 1998 team emerged victorious after a penalty shootout.

Chairman of the 30th Anniversary Planning Committee, Anthony Akuamoah Boateng, officially launched the anniversary celebrations and urged members to view the milestone not only as a celebration of the past but also as an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and build a stronger future for the association.

The occasion was graced by Global President His Lordship Justice David Boafo, who commended the planning committee for successfully organising the event. He encouraged members to actively participate in all activities lined up for the anniversary year and briefed attendees on preparations towards the forthcoming 70th anniversary celebration of the association.

Beyond the sporting activities, participants enjoyed music, food, drinks and board games, including cards, draughts and word games, while reconnecting with old classmates and forging new relationships. Although the programme was scheduled to end at 2:00 pm, the vibrant atmosphere kept participants at the venue until approximately 5:00 pm.

The committee acknowledged the generous support of Alistair Djimatey of the 1995 year group, whose sponsorship through Blue Skies contributed significantly to the success of the programme. Appreciation was also extended to Felix Wiafe of the 1995 year group, the 1995, 1997 and 1998 year groups, and numerous other individuals whose financial and logistical support helped make the event a success.

As part of the year-long anniversary celebrations, Dynamic Perscoba 96 will organise health talks focusing on wellness, pensions and estate planning, conduct a community health screening exercise in Nkwatia-Kwahu, visit their alma mater to interact with students, and undertake an infrastructure project to support the school.

The President of Dynamic Perscoba 96, Jerryson Mawuli Anyawoe, called on members to embrace the anniversary theme by strengthening the unity that has kept the group together for three decades. He noted that true brotherhood is demonstrated through mutual support, sacrifice and a shared commitment to one another's success. According to him, the group's greatest legacy will not only be measured by the memories they have created but by the positive impact they leave on their alma mater, their communities and future generations of PERSCOBA.

Speaking after the event, Secretary of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Edem Atiase, described the launch as a resounding success and expressed gratitude to committee members, volunteers, sponsors, referees, photographers, service providers and all participants for their contributions. He noted that the Anniversary Games represented far more than a sporting competition, describing them as "a celebration of friendship, sacrifice, shared history and the enduring bonds that have united Dynamic Perscoba for three decades."
