He said for every community to develop, it behoved on the indigenes to assist in its development.

He said the appeal was not limited to only those in the diaspora, “Those in the country who are well-to-do need to come back home to help in the development of the community.”

Mr Agyapong made the appeal when members of the Work Meaningful Foundation, a non-governmental organisation based in the United States of America (USA), inspected a classroom project being built for the Akyeremade District Assembly (DA) Junior High School (JHS).

The assembly member was grateful to the foundation for coming to the aid of the unity by investing in education that would benefit the entire district.

Inspiration

The leader of the foundation, Justin Jones Fosu, said although he did not grow up in Ghana, he was inspired by his father, Prof. Augustine Fosu, who has been assisting the district in diverse ways to also decide to assist.

Prof. Fosu has already built and stocked a library for the Akyeremade DA Primary and JHS.

He said that singular gesture by his father spurred him on to also found the foundation to raise funds to put up a six-unit one-storey block for the school.

The building which started in January 2023 is expected to be completed by 2025.

Mr Fosu said the visit was for the members to see the progress of work on the building and where their money was being invested.

He expressed satisfaction at the progress of work and was hopeful that it would be completed on time for use by the students.
