Chocho honours Chief Imam

National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Nuhu SharabutuThe CEO of Chocho Industries, Alhaji Mustapha Oti-Boateng, organiser of the maiden Inter-Faith Games, last Saturday, honoured the Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Nuhu Sharabutu, for championing peace in Ghana and beyond at a ceremony in Accra.

“The chief imam is touted as one of the key people to have initiated religious tolerance and co-habitation which is being cherished and celebrated”, a citation at the coronation ceremony said.

The two personalities have indicated that if there was any virtue Ghana should pursue then, it was peace.

The duo advised citizens, particularly those in authority, to go to every length to jealously guard the peace the country is currently enjoying.

As part of activities marking the 10th anniversary celebrations of Chocho, Alhaji Oti-Boateng and his team last Saturday called on the Muslim leader at his New Fadama residence.

Sheikh Sharabutu reiterated the essence of peace and how it should be esteemed and preserved as a country.

To him, the peace the country is enjoying should not be taken for granted else Ghanaians could incur the wrath of God according to the Quran and said “If we don’t thank God as a people, he will punish us”.

The Quran renders it, thus, “If I bless you and you don’t appreciate it your punishment will be great.”

“I commend the leadership of Chocho for this laudable initiative of pursuing peace. I congratulate you and I pray that the vision would be embraced by all so we continue to live in peace as a people.

“As  the leader of the  Muslim community in the country, I am not concerned about the various beliefs of  the people I Iead, the most important thing is we all live in harmony, and that is a mark for me”, the Sheikh said.

The Chocho boss said his company had reached far due to their dwelling on the principles of  truthfulness, fair play and justice.

He gave the assurance that his outfit would continue to propagate the message of peace  and with its slogan ‘Somu yie’ which literally means, handle it with care, the maiden Inter-Faith Games, which was held on July 1, would be annualised.
