The donation, which was made at its head office at Suhum, was to support the re-roofing of some classroom blocks whose roofs were ripped off during a rainstorm that hit the area a few weeks ago.

The Chief Executive Officer of Chocho Industries, Alhaji Mustapha Oti Boateng,  said the gesture fell in line with the teachings of Prophet  Mohammed which encouraged education.

“As a Moslem, I consider this as fulfilling Prophet Mohammed’s teachings that encourage education. I was touched when the headmistress approached me concerning their plight.

“The Holy Prophet said we should encourage  education wherever it is practised, hence the gesture. I think issues and concerns such as this should be the concern of all, and I, therefore, urge other corporate bodies to follow suit,” Alhaji Oti Boateng said.

The headmistress of  the school, Sherifatu Abukari, expressed appreciation for the gesture, saying, “We are short of words, it just dawned on us to come to Alhaji, and when we did, he requested for the estimate for the damage, and the next thing was for him to follow it up with the cheque —we are most grateful.”

Chocho recently presented food items worth thousands of cedis to persons living with HIV during the Christmas festivities.
