The donation was part of activities marking the 40th anniversary of the church and the birthday of its Founder, Apostle Kwadwo Safo.

Prior to the presentation, the church, led by its Leader, Pastor Osei Kwadwo, undertook a massive clean-up exercise at the home.

The items presented included yam,  cooking oil, diapers, rice, bread, sugar, toilet rolls, Indomie, laundry and bathing soap.

Presenting the items, Pastor Osei said the donation was in line with the church’s principle.

Pillars of the church

He said the cardinal pillars of the church were empathy, selflessness and compassion, hence the decision to always donate to the needy and support the vulnerable in society, as commanded by the Bible.

The pastor explained that it was the founder who gave the money to buy the items, adding that it was in line with his annual ritual of making a donation to the home.

An officer of the home, Ms Georgina Aikins, received the items on behalf of the home and commended the church for its continued support.

She said the most pressing needs of the home, among many challenges, were wheelchairs to aid disabled children and a bus to enhance the activities of the home.

Ms Aikins said the donation was overwhelming and urged other organisations to support the home, especially with wheelchairs for the disabled and vehicles to transport the children to and fro the home.
