After three days of hospitalisation, the victims were treated and discharged.

When The Mirror visited the scene of the bee attack, some residents had resorted to the burning of car tyres under the tree where the bees were purported to have come from, in a bid to halt the attack of the bees.

A resident, Obaa Yaa Amaniapong said since the incident, residents had been cautious when using that route.

She said she had not seen any official come over to find out what had happened even though the issue had gone viral in Tema.

“After burning the tyre there the incident has not recurred and we also do not know if the bees are still in there or not.

“We have also not seen anyone from the assembly come over to find out about the issue. These are the kind of things I think must engage the attention of the duty bearers. Right now, if we decide to cut down the tree, we would be charged or told that we are carrying out an illegal act,” she said.
