Ayawaso MCE cuts sod to reconstruct roads

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly, Sandra O. Ahinkorah on Thursday, September 19 cut sod for the reconstruction of some old and damaged roads in her municipality.

The ground breaking ceremony was graced by the Director of Political Affairs at the Presidency, Mr Asiedu Bekoe (Protozoa) and the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia S. Alhassan.

Also in attendance were the Chiefs and people of Shiashie.

In her address, the MCE disclosed that the 5 kilometres of roads were being funded by purely internally generated funds (IGF) at the cost of GHS 2,993,199.06. She disclosed that places to benefit from the roads reconstruction includes Shiashie, Dzorwulu, Westlands, East Legon and Roman Ridge.

Madam Ahinkorah used the occasion to appeal to residents and business owners of the area to pay their taxes and tolls. She also assured them that the assembly will use them judiciously for projects that will benefit them directly.

The MP for the Constituency expressed gratitude to the people of Ayawaso West and promised to partner with the MCE to bring real development to the people.

The Chiefs on their part thanked the MP and MCE for the numerous development projects that is ongoing under them.

The contractor, Elex Investments Ltd has 3 months to complete the project.
