The driver was the first to have been arrested whilst he was driving a pickup vehicle embossed with the logo of the school loaded with foodstuff, meant for students of the Peki SHS, to the home of the auditor.

The driver was said to have been dispatched by the school authorities to send the foodstuff to home of the auditor to allegedly bribe him.

Upon his arrest, the bursar of the school and the auditor reported themselves to the police.

Corporal Prince Dogbatse of the Volta Regional Police Public Relations Office told Accra based Citi FM that, the driver was arrested upon a tipoff and that he was stopped by a task force led by the Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Rev Johnson Avuletey around Sokode whilst on his way to the auditor’s house in Ho.

“Currently we have the driver, who is the initial suspect we arrested, then we have the bursar and the internal auditor also in our custody now. When the news broke, the internal auditor and the bursar turned themselves in following the report so investigations are ongoing,” Corporal Dogbatse said.

The Deputy Volta Regional Minister is said to have been alerted by an informant who accused the headmaster and the bursar of the school of being behind the act.
