Asante Asokorehene embarks on COVID-19 sensitisation
The Omanhene of the Asante Asokore Traditional Area, working with chiefs in the traditional area and the Nana S K B Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has embarked on a COVID-19 sensitisation programme in the communities within the traditional area to help prevent the spread of the disease to the area.
The people in the communities are being educated on how to observe the social distance protocol, wash hands regularly under running water with soap, use alcohol-based hand sanitisers and cover the nose and mouth with tissue when coughing and sneezing.

Nana Krobea Asante, who is also the life patron of the NGO, together with other members of the traditional council, set aside one week for the exercise to help win the fight against the pandemic.
Statement
A statement signed by the Akyempemhene of the Asokore Traditional Area and Board Member of the Foundation, Nana Osei Appiah Kubi, said for the one week, the traditional leaders were undertaking a house-to-house education on the preventive measures and symptoms of coronavirus in all the 27 towns, villages and hamlets in the traditional area.
Communities visited so far are Asante Asokore, Senchi, Brofoyedru, Okaikrom, Ahensan, Akokoaso and Bomso.
Seeking health care
It said the people were advised to seek help from the nearest health facility when they experienced any of the symptoms.
To enhance easy access to the nearest health facilities, the phone contacts of the facilities were shared with the people.
Nana Krobea Asante, as part of his contribution towards the prevention of the pandemic, donated soap and sanitisers (valued at about GH¢5,000) to the people in the traditional area. In all, about 1,400 people benefited.
The Omanhene appealed to the people in his traditional area to pay heed to all directives given by the government on the preventive and control measures for this pandemic.
