Amicus Onlus presents hospital beds to Abandze health centre
Amicus Onlus an NGO committed to enhancing rural health service delivery has presented six hospital beds to the Abandze health centre in the Mfantseman municipality.
Dr Alexander Martin-Odoom said Amicus Onlus Ghana is an NGO that is engaged in frontline collaboration and service to rural and marginalised communities in Ghana to improve health delivery.

He said there is no doubt that there was dire need for hospital beds in many health facilities in the country and noted that Amicus Onlus was committed to helping ease the situation.
To this end, he said the organisation through the assistance of donors was able to import and donate 10 professional hospital beds to Saltpond hospital in 2018.
Biriwa Medical centre
He said organisation had also been running the Baobab Medical Center in at Biriwa in the central region since 2005 and had assisted and attended to more than 400,000 clients.
He said the Baobab Medical Center also carries out health outreach services to remote communities, including antenatal services, a diabetes clinic and community preventive medical programmes
Donors and volunteers
He thanked donors and volunteers from Italy, particularly Dr Lino Masini, an Italian doctor for their donations and being supportive of the clinic since it’s foundation.
Mr Odoom said Amicus Onlus works in close collaboration with the local authorities and the Ghana Health Services to identify needs and to look for solutions and word continue the collaboration to improve health service delivery.
The Municipal Director of health services for Mfantseman, Mr Martin Suameni Daanko encouraged health personnel to take proper care of the beds.
The Nurse Manager at the facility, Mr Christian Kpogli thanked Amicus Onlus for the gesture.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Kenneth Kelly Essuman used the occasion to advise on the COVID-19, urging them to abide by all restrictions imposed.
