All set for Ningo-Prampram primaries

All is set for the resumption of voting in the Ningo-Prampram primaries a day after the process was rocked by confusion.

Polls in the area was suspended following a protest raised by the camp of one of the aspirants, Samuel Nartey George over the voters roll.

Just before the electoral commission could deploy for the elections on Saturday, Samuel George's camp raised concern over an alleged deletion of some names from the register.

This resulted in some confusion. A meeting called by the police between representatives of the two aspirants, ended in further confusion as one Habid Mohammed, Constituency Organiser allegedly punched Mr George in the left eye which later got swollen.

Samuel George filed a report with the police and Habib was subsequently arrested by the police and his statement taken. The suspect, however filed a counter complain against Mr. Samuel George.

When the GraphicOnline team arrived in Prampram, Sunday Morning, the officers were preparing for deployment. "We are always set for the conduct of the election", the District Commander, DSP Paul Bampoe said.

According to the Constituency Director of Elections, Mr Noble Amenyawu, said all the issues surrounding the register have been resolved and voting will take place at designated polling stations.
