Alajo mechanics demand justice for murdered colleague
Mechanics at Alajo yesterday embarked on a demonstration to demand justice for their colleague who was allegedly shot by a motorist in Accra last Tuesday.

The victim, Richard Yaw Boadi, 32, died last Wednesday at the Ridge Hospital after he had been sent there for treatment.
Dressed in red and black, the mechanics, poured out their grievances over the death of their colleague after demonstrating from Alajo to some media houses in Accra and back to Alajo.
Suspect
The Accra Regional Operations Commander, Chief Superintendent, Mr Kwesi Ofori, told the Daily Graphic that the suspect, Nana Frimpong, had been remanded.
According to him, the suspect was in police custody and would be taken to court for further action.
He, therefore, appealed to the mechanics to calm down for the police to handle the issue accordingly.
“We have seen what happened earlier and I want to tell the mechanics and the family of the deceased to hold their peace for the police to handle the situation. The suspect has been lawfully remanded and he will be sent to court for further action,” he said.
Mechanics
The leader of the demonstrators, Mr Kofi Sampong, said: “We want justice for Yaw Boadi, and if we do not get it, we will continue to demonstrate until there is justice.”
Mr Sampong said the group did not support mob justice and, therefore, demanded that the laws should deal with the suspect.

Yaw Boadi was last Tuesday shot in the lower abdomen by a motorist, Nana Frimpong, at Alajo after the mechanic had questioned the suspect for wrongful parking.
But for the timely intervention of the police, Nana Frimpong would have been lynched by an angry mob.
