Pastor Konadu made the call during a sermon to inaugurate a new SDA church building for the people of Adutwam in the Sekyere Central Dictrict in the Ashanti Region.

The President of Mountain View Ghana SDA, Pastor Abankwah Amoakohene, who inaugurated the church building, said the church started in the town in 1929.

According to him, some traders who were then staying at Yonso came to the town to evangelise the people and later formed the church.

He disclosed that as part of the programme to inaugurate the building, the church organised a week-long health screening for Adutwam and its environs.

A professor of Accounting based in the United States, Samuel Rockson Asamoah, who was instrumental in the construction of the building, said he received a request from the church asking for his assistance after the old building was destroyed by rain.

The church was named after Professor Asamoah’s late uncle, Pastor Asante Krobea, whom he stayed with. The late Pastor Asante was the first minister of the church in the community.

He appealed to the people to ensure the building is well maintained in order to serve its purpose for a long time.

The church building was constructed at a cost of over $100,000.

Some members of the church, who have contributed immensely in diverse ways to the growth of the church, were also rewarded during the ceremony.

The people of Adutwam appealed to the government and philanthropists to come to their aid by providing them with social amenities like good roads, classroom block for children, police station, banks, a recreational centre, among others.
