Acting CHRAJ Commissioner, four others, ordained pastors

The Head Pastor of the Holy Ghost Temple of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Adenta, Prophet Christopher Yaw Annor, has charged ministers to have a mentality of service.

He said leadership was all about serving and that attitude attracted the allegiance of people.

Prophet Annor charged politicians to also develop the concept of leadership, which was about service, as it seemed they had no idea about it.

He was of the view that if leaders served, they would not struggle to win the confidence and allegiance of their constituents by any other means.

Prophet Annor said this at the joint ordination service at the Mountain Empowerment Church for four of its pastors and a pastor of the Family of Christ Ministries.

The four pastors of the Mountain Empowerment Church are the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering for Rancard Solutions Limited, Mr Ebo Edwandzi Bentil; the Acting Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice, Mr Richard Quayson; and two mechanical engineers, Mr Peter K Ayivi and Mr Michael Y Mensah.

The pastor ordained from the Family of Christ Ministries is an Assistant Director of Education at the Ghana Education Service (GES), Mr Benjamin Klomanyi.

 Charge

Prophet Annor, basing his preaching on 2nd Timothy 2, charged the ordained ministers to please primarily God, who had called them.

He said their dependence on God ought to be paramount and total.

Secondly, the ordained ministers had to work within the church with an accommodating attitude for all regardless of status, while recognising the potential within all persons.

“Learn how to sow in expectation. Sow life, sow prayers, sow time in studying scriptures and sow time in knowing your congregants.

“Above all be patient in service,” Prophet Annor told them.

 Ordination

Prophet Annor led them to pledge their commitment to their various churches, the leaders of the churches and their congregations.

He said the constitution of their various churches had to guide them in all their actions.

After anointing them as reverend ministers, Prophet Annor with the help of the Senior Minister of the Empowerment Mountain Church, the Rev. Geoffrey Quayson, the Senior Minister of the Family of Christ Ministry, the Rev. Emmanuel Yeboah and Rev. Dr Spio Eshun of the Rescue Gospel Church, fastened a clerical collar onto the clerical shirts of each of the ordained ministers.

Prophet Annor said the white clerical collar on the black shirt signified that they were lights shining in a dark world.

He then presented to each minister a certificate of ordination as well as a Bible, while telling them that the anointing to serve was on them, but they had to endeavour to study the word of God, which was the basic tool of their profession as ministers, to be approved by God as ministers.

Rev. Ebo E Bentil, on behalf of the other ordained ministers, thanked God for calling them into service and giving them the grace to respond to the call.
