37 Military Hospital receives donation for flood, fire victims

The Ghana Lotto Operators Association (GLOA) has presented items worth GH¢4,000 and an amount of GH¢6,000 in cash to victims of the June 3 fire and flood disaster who are currently on admission at the 37 Military Hospital.

The donation was made up of medical supplies and assorted food items. The gifts were presented with the aim of facilitating the recovery of the victims.

According to the acting Chairman of the GLOA, Mr Dan Borsor, following the disaster, it has become pertinent that citizens rally in support of the victims admitted to healthcare institutions to complement efforts by the government to help them get well.

He described the presentation as the association’s corporate social responsibility in assisting to promote national development.

Mr Borsor urged citizens and corporate organisations to support victims of the June 3 disaster and contribute towards their recovery so they could bounce back to their normal lives.

The Acting Commanding Officer of the 37 Military Hospital, Colonel Yeboah Agyapong, received the items on behalf of the hospital. He said the victims were being given excellent medical care and that many of them who mostly sustained first degree burns were responding to treatment.

He commended the GLOA for its kind gesture and gave an assurance that the victims would continue to receive professional care.
Col. Agyapong was assisted in receiving the presentation by the Matron of the hospital, Col Mercy Yelpert, and other senior officers of the hospital.
