33 metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives lose jobs
Thirty-three metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives (MMDCEs) have been directed to hand over to their respective regional ministers with immediate effect.

The tenure of the affected officials was not renewed during the ongoing re-nomination or appointment of MMDCEs.
Consequently, the regional ministers in the nine regions where the appointment of the MMDCEs was not renewed have been asked to assume temporary responsibility of those assemblies.
According to the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD), Mr Akwasi Opon-Fosu, MMDCEs affected in the Greater Accra Region are, Mr Robert Kempes Ofosu-Ware, Tema MCE; Mr Ebenezer Nii Armah Tackie, Ga West; Mr Rex Daniel Wusah, Dangme East and Numo Adinortey Addison, Ashaiman.
Those who have been relieved of their post in the Ashanti Region are Mr Anthony Nyame, Atwima Kwanwoma; Ms Theresa Adomako Tawia, Atwima Mponua; Mr Daniel Okyeamang Apau, Mampong; Mr Robert Benett Forkuo, Amansie Central; Ms Martha Bruckner, Ejura Sekyedumasi, and Mr Noah Asante Manu, Bekwai.
In the Brong Ahafo Region, Mr Stephen Lord Oppong, Berekum; Mr J. Atta-Bediako, Jaman South; Mr Alhassan Seidu Harrison, Kintampo North, and Mr Yaw Osei Adjei, Wenchi, were affected.
In the Central Region, Mr Anthony Egyir Aikins, Cape Coast, and Mr Peter Kofi Osei-Ashia, Upper Denkyira East, both failed to get re-nominated.
In the Northern Region, Alhaji Haruna Friday of the Tamale metropolis; Mr Abdul-Wahab Umar, Zabzugu; Alhaji Seidu Sampson Abudu, Bole and Mr Issifu Salifu Awuribe, Central Gonja, were not retained.
Similarly, Mr Emmanuel Andema, Kassena-Nankana; Mr Musah Abdulai, Bawku, and Clement Akugre of Bongo, all in the Upper East Region, lost their positions.
In the Upper West Region, Mr Bernard Kofi Pouzuing of Jirapa; Mr Clement Benin, Lambussie Karni, and Mr Dougo Yakubu, Wa, were not re-nominated.
Nana Kumesy Bonsy of Jasikan; Mr Seth Frank Alifui of Kadjebi; Alhaji Bubey Dzinadu of Central Tongu; Mr Daniel K. Amelorku of South Tongu; Mr Bernard F. Amable of Ketu and Mr Isaac Kodobisah of Ho, all in the Volta Region, also could not obtain re-nomination.
Mr James Ackah Kobbina of Nzema East in the Western Region also failed to obtain re-nomination.
