2 Arrested over death of sex worker

Briefing journalists in Accra last Friday, the Odorkor District Police Commander, DSP Jordan Quaye, said initial investigations conducted by the police revealed that the two suspects connived to kill the woman after having sex with her and refusing to pay her.

He said at 6:30 a.m. on April 18, 2013, the police received information that the body of a female adult, aged about 30, was lying close to a drinking spot at Mangoase.

When the police got to the scene, they discovered that the lady had lacerations on her body, a situation which made them suspect foul play.

Further investigations also revealed that on the night of the incident, some of the residents of Mangoase had heard the screams of a woman around 12:30 a.m.

Since it was in the night, none of the residents came out to find out what was happening.

It was only in the morning that they found the body of the woman, with both legs bent and bloodstains in her dress.

DSP Quaye said the police were notified by some of the residents who had heard the screams that in the night the sex worker had been seen in Adufu’s car.

He said during investigations, Abolomo, whose workshop was close to where the body had been found, was also arrested.

DSP Quaye has appealed to the public to help the police identify the female sex worker.
