Sod cut for Marshallan Business Complex in Sekondi

The Most Rev. Joseph Osei-Bonsu breaking the ground for the construction of the Marshallan Business Complex. The President of the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference, the Most Rev. Joseph Osei-Bonsu, has cut the sod for the construction of a GH¢120,000 Marshallan Business Complex in Sekondi.
The 1,500 capacity hall complex, an initiative of the Supreme Knight, Sir Knight Joseph Ekow Paintsil, would on completion host social events in the twin-city of Sekondi/Takoradi.

A guest house, a bookshop, an office of the Supreme Knight and other amenities will all be part of the complex.

The Noble Order of Knights and Ladies of Marshall is a Catholic friendly society founded in 1926 to bring Catholic men and women together for effective lay apostolate and Catholic action, and to provide a friendly social forum for Catholics who might otherwise be attracted to non-Catholic lodges.

At the sod-cutting ceremony, Sir Knight Paintsil appealed to members of the Knights of Marshall to provide support to ensure the early completion of the project.

He said apart from serving the needs of members of the Marshallan society, who travelled from afar to the headquarters, the complex would generate additional income for the society as the conference halls would be hired out to corporate organisations and others to host social events.

Sir Knight Paintsil reiterated his commitment to the computerisation of the finances and database of the Society as well as strengthening its information management system to make it more efficient and reliable.

The Most Rev Osei-Bonsu, for his part, urged members of the society to rededicate themselves to the church. He also reminded them of their responsibilities to the poor and needy.
