The quest for the 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) champion advances as the competition progresses into its one-eighth stage.
Following the conclusion of the preliminary stage, qualifying schools and those seeded from the 2022 contests are set to vie for a spot in the quarter-final stage.
Enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the performance of the 2022 seeded schools, as well as last year's semi-finalists and finalists. The ultimate question remains: which schools will earn the coveted bragging rights and the opportunities that accompany victory?
Presec Legon, the 2022 NSMQ champions, will face potential banana skins in Kumasi Wesley Girls SHS and Konongo Odumase SHS on Friday, October 13, 2023.
Prempeh College, last year's first runners-up, will square off against Fomena T.I Amass and Navrongo SHS.
Adisadel College, a one-time champion and 2022's 2nd runners-up, will engage in fierce competition with St Louis SHS and Abuakwa State College.
Achimota School is poised to clash with Holy Child School, along with last year’s seeded school, Assin State College.
Wesley Girls will go head-to-head with Archbishop Porter Girls SHS, as well as Ghanata SHS representing the Greater Accra Region.
Furthermore, Mfantsipim School, Kumasi Academy, and Mamfe Methodist Girls’ SHS will fiercely compete for a coveted spot in the quarter-finals.
In total, there will be 27 contests spanning three days, from Wednesday, October 11, to Friday, October 13.
