‘Resource SDA Education Unit’

Thr Seventh Day Adventist Church should redouble its efforts and sufficiently resource its education unit with the necessary funds, infrastructure and human resource, to ensure that more people benefit from its educational delivery.  Head of the Legal Department of City Investment Company Limited, Mr Nathaniel Hegbor has advocated.

“There was a growing number of parents who earnestly desire a Christian influenced education for their children, and if your institutions properly position themselves, you would serve the needs of this growing population of parents.

“This, I believed, would also serve as a good medium to evangelise the Adventist faith of the Christian Gospel,” he said at a graduation ceremony organised by the Labone Seventh Day Adventist Junior High School.

It was on the theme: “Christian education, a tool for social re-Orientation”.

Mr Hegbor urged the graduates to stand out and make a difference by holding fast to the sound Christian principles they had acquired during their stay in the school.

Their world, he said, abounded in opportunities and that the facilities at their disposal would make it possible for them to aspire higher.

“The Internet today is the greatest storehouse of abundant knowledge and information. Let it be a tool for your advancement. In the hands of a properly trained and focused individual, it is the best aid.

“Do not limit its use to facebook and twitter, or a medium to socialise, tap into the knowledge it holds for your research, your career path and build strong networks that will be of benefit to you and your career. Let it not be a means to engage in advance fee internet fraud or Sakawa as it is known,” he said.

Mr Hegbor said Ghana is growing and increasingly, becoming the preferred destination for business in the West African sub region, thus, students should start positioning themselves to take advantage of the opportunities that came in the areas of commerce, industry and services.

The headmaster of the school, Nii Kwaku Kwansa, urged the students to be good ambassadors of the school where ever they found themselves.
