The facility, worth 54,500 euros, was funded by Africa Action, a German based NGO, and the Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ). It would serve 600 kindergarten pupils.

Inaugurating the facility, the Programme Director of Africa Action, Mrs Dinah Kwadade, urged Parent-Teacher Associations to ensure the daily provision of meals for pupils, the payment of salaries of the kitchen staff and the regular maintenance and refurbishment of the facility.

The Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr Thomas Wimmer, commended the management of the school for sustaining the school during hard times.

The headmistress of the school, Ms Cecelia Boateng, said the facility would make life on campus an enjoyable one for the pupils.

The headmaster of the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon, Mr Africanus Kwame Anane, who chaired the function, appealed for more assistance to solve the problem of space in classrooms for the school.
