At the event, six personalities were honoured for the roles they had played in the life of the school.

Key among the personalities was the headmistress, Mrs Mary Adu-Gyamfi, who had the administration block named after her.

The others are: Mr A.A. Buanya, Board Chairman; Mr James Addo-Nkansah, School Administrator; Mr Lud Bekoe, Senior House Master; Lady Rev. Kathleen Allotey, School Chaplain; and Lawyer Clement Obu, Barrister at Law.

Among the personalities present included the Head of the Human Security Department of the National Security Council Secretariat, Brigadier-General Nunoo-Mensah, who constructed a nine-unit classroom block for the school.

In her address, Mrs Adu-Gyamfi expressed her appreciation to God for the successful movement of the school from Adabraka to Teshie in the Ledzokuku-Krowor municipality in the Greater Accra Region.

“We are grateful to God who showed His providence by giving us buses from Metro Mass Transit Ltd to convey students to and from school to various vantage points.

“God has been there for the school when we had no one and when we almost thought we were going to be swallowed by problems and difficulties,” she said.

In his sermon, the District Minister of the Presbyterian Church at Adawso-Akuapem, Rev. Silas Kwame Amponsah, charged the school to forget about the past and move forward as it had finally been given a permanent site.

He preached on the theme: “Remembering God’s Goodness to O’Reilly Senior High School.”
