It further commended the Ghana Education Service and teachers for adequately preparing the students for the examination which it said would transition them into senior high school.

“We are confident that your hard work and dedication will be crowned with success,” the statement said.

The statement reminded the candidates of the interventions that have been instituted by the government such as the Free Senior High School Initiative, geared towards spurring them on to higher academic pursuits.

This year’s BECE for school candidates should have been written from June 16 to 19, 2020 but had to be rescheduled due to the closure of schools on March 15, 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The examination was, therefore, written from Monday, September 14 to Friday, September 18, 2020).

About 531,705 candidates made up of 269,419 males and 262,286 females participated in the exams.
