Mfantsiman Girls PTA renovates classroom block

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School in Saltpond has renovated a 15-unit dilapidated classroom block and handed it over to the school.

The classroom facility, abandoned for more than 10 years, has been refurbished and is ready for use.

The Chairman of the PTA, Rev. Lawson Adjei, at the weekend took over the facility from the contractor, Larkwaps Enterprise Limited, and in turn handed it over to the school administration at a short ceremony.

Congenial learning environment

Rev. Adjei said the facility was to create a more congenial environment that would promote effective teaching and learning in the school.

He indicated that the students, some of whom attended classes in an uncompleted GETFund-funded project without windows, would be relocated to the new facility.

He said the PTA executive took over in 2016 and pledged to work to support the development of the school, adding that the PTA had plans to support a library project for the school.

Rev. Adjei commended the contractor for the prompt work done, noting that the PTA gave the contractor six months to complete work but the renovation was completed in five months.

The Headmistress of the school, Mrs Leticia Hawkson, thanked the PTA for its tremendous support to the school.

She said the continuous support to the school would help the students to excel in both curricula and co-curricula activies.
