KNUST distance education holds congregation

The ceremony coincided with the presentation of doctorate (PhD) degree awards to 26 doctors after their studies at the university.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Chancellor of the university, in address, called for vigorous research and development programmes to serve as engine of growth for national development.
Prof. W. O. Ellis, the Vice Chancellor of the university, said this year, the university would graduate a total of 7,744, which will include 1,902 graduands from the Institute of Distance Learning (IDL) and 498 students who will obtain First Class Honours.
Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, a Deputy Minister of Education (in charge of tertiary education) and guest speaker, said education was acknowledged as the most important tool to prepare individuals and the society at large towards national development.
