A statement signed by the Head of Public Relations of the Ministry of Education, Mr Ekow Vincent Assafuah, said GH¢ 40,010,112 was full payment for teacher trainee allowance for the period of April to July 2018.

In addition, it said GH¢ 38,441,088 was full payment to the National Commission for Tertiary Education (NCTE) for onward payment to the Principals Conference (PRINCOF) in respect of the colleges of education feeding grants.

CHASS

The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) recently reminded the ministry of the delay in the payment of third term grant of students benefiting from the Free SHS.

It said the delay was having financial challenges on schools.

“We are in the seventh week of the reopening of the third term and we are required to spend 14 weeks in school this term and yet no school has received any grant from the Free SHS Secretariat,” a letter signed by the National President of CHASS, Mr Victor Yanney, said.
