Mr Sodah said the assembly would team up with the chiefs and people of the traditional area and the Eastern Regional Co-ordinating Council to support the governance programmes of the government.

The MCE said at the appropriate time, the chiefs and people of the area would also come out to show their appreciation to the President and his government at the appropriate forum.

The Presiding Member of the Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly, Mrs Rita Akosua Avatey, also expressed her gratitude to the government for bringing the university to the area.

“Now that the news has come out, it is our duty to liaise with the necessary stakeholders for initial plans to start to make the dream come to pass” she said.

The presiding member said with the news now in the public domain, it behoved all and sundry to work hard towards the university project.

Mrs Avatey said all assembly members had a role to play and urged them to come together as a team for the assignment ahead.
