Ashanti schools receive laptops

Senior High Schools (SHS) in the Ashanti Region have received a total of 6,580 laptops valued at GH¢3.27 million.

The 147 beneficiaries were made up of SHS, technical and vocational schools drawn from 29 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the Ashanti Region.

Schools that offer science programmes received 50 laptops each while the others received 40 each.

The Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Joe Oteng-Adjei, who presented the laptops, noted that the event was a continuation of the Better Ghana Agenda ICT Project initiated by his ministry in 2010.

He stressed that the project demonstrated the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government's commitment to promote Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and its development in Ghana by improving students's access to ICT facilities for Science and technology education.
