The water project, executed at a cost of GH¢17,000, is meant to solve the water supply challenges facing especially the girls in the school.

AKISS was founded in 1970 and currently has a population of 2,236.

Handing over the facility, Mr Kwaku Boamah Akyeampong, a representative of the NGO, expressed the hope that the school would make maximum use of the water supply system and urged the school authorities to maintain the facility.

He explained that the gesture was in memory of the daughter of the founder of the NGO, Mr Greens Georges, who suddenly died in Tamale a few months ago during a voluntary service.

He advised the students, of the school to take their studies seriously and study hard for them to fulfill their ambitions in future.

Mr Akyeampong, who is also an old student of the school, gave assurance that the NGO was ready to assist the school to solve some of its development challenges.

The National President of the Old Students Association of  AKISS, Reverend Dr. B.I. Adu-Okoree, thanked the Lisa for Ghana Fund for the gesture.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Michael Donwono, called on other individuals and organisations to emulate the example of the NGO.
