LIONS Clubs District 418 holds diabetes screening in Keta
The Chairman of the District Diabetes Awareness Committee of the LIONS Clubs, Professor Emeritus Peter Tuffuor Asubonteng, said diabetes was one of the silent killers across the globe.

To reverse the trend, he said, it was important for people to screen voluntarily for diabetes.
“Even children as young as 12 suffer from diabetes,” he added.
Prof. Asubonteng explained that the exercise, which took place at the forecourt of the municipal assembly, was in line with the commitment of LIONS to serve humanity unconditionally.
“We need healthy people to have a healthy nation,” he maintained.
Prof, Asubonteng said last year the club carried out a similar exercise in Kumasi.
said the LIONS followed up health screenings with the provision of medications and also organised an activity every month to serve the people.
In all, 127 LIONS and LEOs helped in the screening exercise.
