Let’s renew our spirit of resilience, endurance as we celebrate Easter — Rt Rev. Dr Agbeko
THE Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG), Rt Rev. Lt Col. Bliss Divine Agbeko (retd) has entreated Ghanaians to hold steadfastly to their spirit of resilience and endurance even in the wake of economic and social challenges, and contribute their quota patriotically to national development.

He said Easter is meant to celebrate the triumph of Christ over the predicaments of life, for which reason all those who adhered to the Christian faith must conform to the example of Christ by enduring difficult situations before sailing to victory.
“The battles of life get tougher where victory is near, just as bees sting hardest when you are approaching the honey,” Rev. Dr Agbeko said in an interview with The Mirror at Ho-Kpodzi on Monday.
The Moderator said there was hope ahead for the nation, adding that it would only materialise when the citizenry did not give up in times of trials and tribulations, just as Christ did not give up in hard times.
He urged Ghanaians to be law abiding and show love to one another all the time. “Just as Christ did the will of the Father, Ghanaians must do the will of the nation and benefit from the blessings of God”.
He acknowledged that Ghana was a multi-religious country, saying every Ghanaian must believe in unity in diversity without any form of discrimination against anyone.
“Let us always move ahead as one people and one nation of God,” said Rev. Dr Agbeko.
The Moderator touched on what he described as a trend of insatiable lust for money among young people and said that would not lead the country into a bright future.
He said every Ghanaian; including young people, must be prepared to work hard for the fruits of their labour to flourish lawfully.
Rev. Dr Agbeko said Ghana as a country needed a peaceful environment to address its economic and social challenges, and it was the duty of every citizen to contribute to the peace, rather than looking up to the government alone for instant solutions to those challenges.
“This should be our resolve as we celebrate Easter again,” he stated.
